Article 46Addressees
This Directive is addressed to the Member States.
NIS2, the European Union directive on network and information security, Article 46
The Directive is addressed to the Member States.
This short provision states the Directive’s main limit. It binds Member States, which must adopt and apply national measures. An entity’s duties arise under the law of the Member State concerned, which may go further (Article 5) and has its own dates; that national law, not the Directive, is what a competent authority applies to the entity.
