About CISO Times
CISO Times is an independent publication for security professionals, providing cybersecurity reporting, practitioner analysis, decision support, tools and reusable resources.
What we do
We do two related jobs.
We keep security professionals informed. News, incident reporting, analysis, interviews, explainers and tutorials — the work of a publication. Our archive runs to several hundred pieces and remains part of the record.
We help security professionals act. This is the newer half, and it is deliberately kept separate from the reporting:
- Decision Desk — where we make an explicit recommendation and show the reasoning, the conditions under which it changes, and the alternatives we considered. This is the only place the publication tells you what to do.
- Resources — templates and operating packs you can adapt, versioned and licensed so you know what you are taking on.
- Tools — assessments and calculators that give a usable result without asking for confidential detail about your organisation.
- Research — original findings, published only once a sample is large enough to mean something.
Tools and Research are in development. We would rather say so than publish thin versions of them.
What we are not
An article on this site is not advice because it appears here. Reporting is reporting. When we make a recommendation, we label it, put our reasoning next to it, and name what would change our mind — and that happens in Decision Desk, not in a news piece.
We are independent. We are not owned by a vendor, and we do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Where anything we publish touches a commercial interest of ours, we say so on the page, before you read it, and we name credible alternatives.
Who writes here
Everything carries a byline. Staff writers and named guest contributors both appear with their own author pages, and guest contributors are published only with their explicit consent.
How we source, correct and label our work is set out in our editorial standards.
